The Power of SWAG
This is a heart-warming story I’m happy to be able to share. A few months ago, Leda, one of our wonderful customer service representatives told me the story of her good friend Steph. It seems, along with far too many folk today, Steph is battling cancer. Being a good friend and questionable cook, Leda wanted to do something special for Steph and her family.
Leda engaged your friendly AZ Swagman’s graphic design skills to create silicone wristbands with STEPH STRONG on one side and DO NOT FEAR, I AM WITH YOU on the other (she wanted much more of that Bible verse, but decided it would be better if it were larger than 3-point type!)
Leda brought 200 wrist bands in for Steph, and offered them, in exchange for donations, to friends and family at an event to which your Swagman was not invited. However, rather than dwelling on the invitation slight, here’s the crux of the story:
Leda’s investment generated over ten times the $$ for Steph!
You know, making that so large, I bet you all saw that coming. Oh well ― what you may not have seen coming is that other friends then took up the idea: a re-order was placed for 500 wrist bands, as well as 50 shirts (many of which were sold before production even commenced!)
The long and the short of this story is that SWAG products were able to raise funds for a family facing an adverse situation ― as well as buoy some spirits with the positive outpouring of support!
Thanks to Leda and Steph for helping out with details and pictures for this AZ Swagman green-ish paper. Details of the success of the second batch and T-Shirts has not been relayed to the Swagman yet. Of course Leda & Steph’s success does not guarantee other success stories.
