Be Prepared

Some advice from your A-Z Swagman’s youth

Be Prepared

and do you know . . . that’s also advice from the CDC!

Currently, we’re living with emotions anywhere from caution to trepidation because of the Covid19 outbreak. First and foremost, your A-Z Swagman is no medical expert — I’m just fortunate enough to live with my veterinarian who checks to see if my nose is wet and my fur (what’s left of it) is shiny. However, I do listen to the news and like to check with what the experts are saying — in this case the experts at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

We all have to trust that our elected officials are doing their part, but we can also prepare our environments to keep disease at bay. According to current CDC information, Covid19 prevention should follow the same guidelines as flu prevention. Makes sense, they’re related. Read the guidelines here: https://www.cdc.gov/nonpharmaceutical-interventions/pdf/gr-pan-flu-ind-house.pdf

Personal prevention guidelines from the CDC include:

● Stay home when you’re sick.

● Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue.

● Wash your hands often with soap and water.

○ 60% Alcohol-based hand sanitizer can stand in for soap when soap is not available.

● Clean frequently touched surfaces.

So of course, your A-Z Swagman’s brain started thinking of ways to help prevent the spread of Covid19 and the flu — which is still far more of a threat according to the CDC. Flu shots are highly recommended and your A-Z Swagman got his back in October!

The above list gives lots of opportunities to associate your brand with doing good. When your employees need to go home, send them with a cup of soup. Provide branded tissues to guests and clients. Soap can be branded with your message. Hand sanitizers make great hand-outs at trade shows and other gatherings. And how many of us think to clean our phone with any form of disinfectant? Maybe we should.

Whether or not you decide to brand your preventative measures, please keep yourself, your families, your co-workers, your fellow car-poolers or bus-riders, your grocery-store-checkout-line-standers, your clients, and your son-in-law-who-isn’t-quite-good-enough-for-your-daughter-but-is-loved-nonetheless safe from this outbreak!
